Family Friendly Soccer Code of Conduct:
• I will abide by the FFS Zero Tolerance/ “Bullying” Policy (see below)
• I will do my best to contribute to a safe playing situation.
• I will not behave negatively at games and I will treat opposing players with respect.
• I will never curse or use foul or profane language.
• I will respect my coaches at all times and listen carefully to their instructions.
• I will support and respect my teammates and opponents at all times. I will not tease, ridicule, put down or make fun of any players on my team or the opposing team, at any time. (See “Bullying” notes below)
• I will not complain about penalties or calls made by the coach.
• I will be committed to developing as a soccer player and always give my best effort.
• I will arrive at practices and games on time and prepared.
All Coaches, Parents, and Players Agree to Abide by This Code
At the discretion of the Family Friendly Soccer Board, violations of the code of conduct may result in, but not limited to:
• Warning
• Suspension
• Expulsion
• Other Action as Necessary
Zero Tolerance/ “Bullying” Definitions:
“Bullying” is the repeated use by one or more players of a written, verbal, or electronic expression, or a physical act or gesture, or any combination thereof, directed at a target that:
• causes physical or emotional harm to the target or damage to the target’s property;
• places the target in reasonable fear of harm to him/herself, or of damage to his/her property;
• creates a hostile environment at soccer practices and/or games
• infringes on the rights of the target at soccer; or
• materially and substantially disrupts soccer practices and/or games.
Examples of Bullying (not limited to this list):
• making threats at teammate(s)
• degrading teammate(s) in any way; for example making insults about a person’s ability or a person’s appearance
• hitting, tripping, spitting at, pushing, physically intimidating teammate(s), etc.
• kicking or shooting soccer ball recklessly at teammate or coach
• spreading rumors or gossiping about a teammate
• using teammate’s equipment without permission
All players must wear cleats or running shoes. Please no sandals, crocs, etc. Shin pads are mandatory for ages 8 and up. Jewelry is not permitted on the field.
